The Superintendency of Higher Education (SES) and SERNAC They reported that, starting this Wednesday, January 17, students entering their first year of an undergraduate degree in higher education can begin to exercise the right of withdrawal established in the Consumer Protection Law (LPC).
Both institutions will work in coordination to ensure the due fulfillment of this right in case it is exercised. The regulation allows that First-year undergraduate students, or those who have paid on their behalf, who have pre-enrolled in an institution of higher education and wish to transfer after knowing the results of their applications to universities that are part of the Higher Education Access System., they may withdraw from such enrollment and request a refund of the money paid.
The law states that young people have a period of 10 business days to exercise the right of withdrawal from the date the first publication of the application results is completed. Thus, this period begins today and extends until January 26th.
To exercise the withdrawal, students must present proof of their second enrollment and ideally a withdrawal letter.
