SES Supervision Platform Awarded by Digital Government, Becomes National Benchmark

With great pride, we inform you that the Superintendency of Higher Education (SES) was awarded the prize this year Transforming State Institutions 2025, in the category Government Efficiency.

This recognition, driven by the Secretariat of Digital Government of the Ministry of Finance, seeks visibility, recognition, and dissemination of good practices in digital transformation implemented by State Administration bodies.

On this occasion, Gobierno Digital was highlighted as a national benchmark for the implementation of Supervision Module from the SES, postulating under the motto “A Bureaucracy-Free Supervisory System”. The platform has allowed reduce by almost 90%% citizen service times, in addition to contributing to energy efficiency and reducing paper consumption, in line with the sustainable development goals promoted by the State.

Platform Benefits

The Supervision Module centralizes and automates processes that were previously manual and highly bureaucratic.

    • More secure and efficient information management: “Now everything is backed up on a single server, which allows information to be recovered in case of loss or errors. Previously, lawyers had to draft official letters that went through several stages of review and dispatch,” he explains. Eduardo Carvajal, IT Professional from SES.

    • Drastic reduction in deadlines: “A request could take up to 60 days, generating numerous documents that were difficult to track. Today, that process is reduced to 5 or 6 days on average, provided the institution responds on time,” adds Carvajal.

  • Greater reliability in records: “Handling complaints used to be done in Excel and separate records, with risks of errors, duplication, and inaccuracy. The new platform allows for the systematization and digitalization of information,” he recalls. Felipe Valenzuela, attorney for the Oversight Division.

 Teamwork

This achievement is the result of cross-sectoral effort by the Superintendency, which since 2023 has driven the development and improvement of the platform.

actively participated the Supervision Division, through Margarita Zilleruelo, Rosario De la Cerda, Felipe Valenzuela, Bárbara Díaz, and Mónica Fernández; and the IT team, comprising Eduardo Carvajal and Fernando Guasch.

The module also meets the pillars of the Digital Transformation Law, integrating Unique Key, advanced electronic signature, and digitalization of files, moving towards the goal of “zero paper.”.

“For six months, we worked consistently in weekly meetings to design this platform. Today, we can say that we have an automated, unified, and much more reliable system. The award fills us with satisfaction because it recognizes the effort of the team and the entire Division,” he highlights. Rosario De la Cerda.
